Alan Hedges. Clinical Hypnotherapist
Alan J Hedges Bsc (Hons), PDCHyp, Dhyp, MBSCH
Alan grew up in Stirling and attended Stirling High School in its pre-comprehensive days. After leaving school he worked in a few areas before studying for a joint Marine Biology and Zoology degree at Bangor University in North Wales and was awarded with 2.1 Honours. He carried out 20 years of post graduate research at Lancaster University after which he retrained as a Secondary School Teacher. It was during this time that he saw the effects that stress has on people as he realised that all the posts he was offered were to replace staff off temporarily or permanently through stress.
He retrained as a Clinical Hypnotherapist with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis and set up practice in the North West of England before relocating back to Central Scotland. He have undertaken advanced training including EMDR and Ego State Therapy. He is a full member of and Clinical Supervisor for the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
As a trained Scientist it would conflict with his conscience to offer a therapy in which he did not believe; he has no qualms about offerering Clinical Hypnotherapy or EMDR.
