Dr. Áine Lombard. Chartered Counselling Psychologist

Biography

Dr. Áine Lombard is a highly qualified and experienced Chartered Counselling Psychologist and a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Since moving to Scotland from Ireland in 2011, she has worked in a variety of settings; from community and charitable organisations, to universities and healthcare centres.

Áine’s primary role over the last five years has been working in the NHS engaging with adults exhibiting various presentations and levels of severity. As a result of this experience she developed specific interests in working with individuals experiencing and adjusting to long term physical health conditions, addiction difficulties and with trauma/abuse backgrounds. Furthermore, Áine has amassed vast experience in working with other psychological difficulties including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, personality disorders, OCD and PTSD. This experience has honed Áine’s knowledge and skill set in such a way as to enable precise and trustworthy assessments, formulations and planned treatments, while always providing a clientcentric approach to working.

Who could benefit?

There are a multitude of issues and concerns that may prompt any person, of any background, in any situation, to seek out a psychologist. These may include experiences of helplessness, feelings of distress, confusion, or stagnation personally or professionally. Often, people feel stuck and unable to address their difficulties alone; this helplessness is a universal human trait; however, it can be lessened through talking therapy.

In my role as a Counselling Psychologist, I feel it is important to work with people as individuals. I want us to work collaboratively to engage with and understand your difficulties within a safe, confidential and supportive setting, where you will be treated with respect and compassion. The aim of our work together will be to enable you to explore new perspectives and choices, and find a way towards an improved sense of well-being.

If you feel you may benefit from seeing a psychologist, contact One Allan Park or myself directly and we can arrange an initial free consultation over the phone. During this, we will discuss your individual needs and potential desired results, what kind of therapeutic approach we both agree would aid you in the long and short term, along with any other questions or queries you may have.

Offered therapeutic approaches

• Person Centred Therapy

• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

• Mindfulness-based approaches

I combine aspects from each of these therapeutic approaches to provide a bespoke, supportive, collaborative, client-focused therapy. This means I’ll work with you, using the type of therapy that best suits you as an individual and takes into account your personal needs and circumstances.

Fees

From £80 for 50 minute sessions.

£55 for hourly clinical supervision sessions.
