Learning Mindfulness skills can help you to become more aware of your thoughts, feelings, and body sensations so that instead of being overwhelmed by them, you are able to manage them. By learning and practicing mindfulness for life you can gain insight into emotions, boost attention and concentration, and improve relationships.
My extensive practicing and learning of mindfulness techniques has completely transformed my life. This has had a direct impact on my own wellbeing as well as family and friend relationships. I trained as a Meditation Facilitator with the University of Strathclyde where they offer a mindfulness meditation practice each day for staff and students and I was part of this service. I have also trained with the Mindfulness Association, having completed the Mindfulness Foundation Qualification and Mindfulness Certificate Qualification which took place at Kagyu Samye Ling Tibetan Buddhist Monestary and Centre for World Peace and Health. I am a current member of the Mindfulness Association which means I am signed up to the following pledge;
1. I have or intend to have a daily Mindfulness practice.
2. I intend to embody Mindfulness and Compassion as core values in my life.
3. I will to be kind and respectful to the other members of the Membership in my communications with them (although I apply this to all).
I have developed my own coaching programme and carry out 1-2-1 coaching and practice as well as running regular programmes and workshops. I also work with corporate clients and have a postgraduate diploma in HR Management and working towards a yoga teacher qualification.
Mindfulness 1-2-1 Coaching
The 1-2-1 course puts you at the centre of your learning and mindfulness journey. For some sharing with others in a group can be daunting. Therefore, this opportunity is completely tailored to you to support your aims. This means that the journey will be completely relevant to your daily life and provide a connection with your coach to develop the practices in any way which fits. I will work with you through some teaching about mindfulness as well as help you understand your mind, facilitating your understanding with mindfulness meditation and practices to support your wellbeing.
Flexibility is key here and I will work with your schedule, work load and timings. Even offering skype calls if required when you can’t make it in to the clinic.
Sessions can be an hour or an hour and a half depending on your needs. The schedule will be completely tailored to what you require. You will leave with practices which you can fit in to your daily life as well as materials to support your practice. Our recommendation is 6 sessions or 8 if you want to go deeper with your practice.
In the 6 week programme participants are taken through a range of mindfulness techniques, guided meditations, and mindfulness awareness exercises that can be integrated into everyday life. The small group will have the guidance of me and will be encouraged to practice exercises and meditations in their own time with audio and materials given to them each week. The course is broken up into six hour and a half long sessions.
