Margherita Sacca. Counsellor (Children, Young People and Adults)

Accredited in Italy as psychologist, in 2007 I moved to the U.K. where I work as Counsellor in my private practice, and as Mental Health Specialist Mentor free-lance. I have experience in counselling/talking therapy and have worked with clients coming to me for different reasons: in some instances, feeling a bit lost in life and wanting to understand themselves or explore what they want; in some cases, for low mood, depression, or anxiety; in other instances, for past trauma, eating disorders, self-harm, relationship, and family problems.

I work with adults and with young people with family and with relationships. As part of my continuous professional development (CPD) I have attended a COSCA accredited course in Counselling Children and Young People, at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow,

I have experience in delivering workshops on psychoeducation, resilience, procrastination, wellbeing, and career vocation, and I do individual sessions on the same themes. As well as with clients, I worked in academic teaching and research in Psychology at universities both in the U.K. (University of Edinburgh, University of Stirling) and in Italy (Universitá degli Studi di Firenze), on different areas of Psychology (including Statistics for Psychology, Neuropsychology, Psycholinguistics, Psychodynamic, Psychology of Groups, Work and Organisational Psychology, and Social Psychology). I worked in the U.K. with charities, GP surgeries, universities, high schools, and primary schools.

Currently I work in my private practice with adults, young people, couples, and families; I collaborate with the University of Stirling, and with UMO in London as Mental Health Specialist Mentor for LSE students; with the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the UK, and on projects promoted by the Italian Consulate, offering psychological support, as well as designing and delivering workshops.
