Alice Child

Update May 2026: Please note Alice has availability for online clients only.

I am a BACP-registered psychodynamic psychotherapist, with eight years’ experience supporting individuals with their mental health and wellbeing.

I work with adults in a compassionate, curious, and non-judgemental way to help them overcome the difficulties stopping them from enjoying rewarding, fulfilling lives.

Clients come to me for various reasons, and I have experience supporting clients to:

  • Process traumatic and difficult experiences, including adverse childhood experiences, grief and loss, and relationship breakdowns.
  • Build resilience and self-esteem to better manage depression, anxiety, and panic
  • Clarify feelings about ADHD and autism traits and diagnoses to navigate the world with greater confidence
  • Explore gender or sexual identities to feel more comfortable in themselves and in relationships
  • Process burnout and vicarious trauma caused by challenging working environments.
  • Examine who they are, where they are in life, how they got there, and where they’d like to be.
  • I have a particular interest in depression, non-recent sexual trauma, and victimisation, as well as supporting clients working in the legal, academic, and criminal justice sectors.

I know that starting therapy and choosing a therapist to share your inner world with might be daunting. Whatever your reasons for seeking counselling, I can help by offering an affirming, supportive space where you’ll be patiently listened to and taken seriously. I’ll be kind, empathetic, and honest, offering you an alternative perspective without judging or giving advice. Together we’ll build a relationship where we can examine your feelings, make sense of your experiences, develop your self- knowledge, and work towards the changes you want to make.

As a therapist trained in the psychodynamic model, I’m interested in your past and present. Childhood experiences create coping mechanisms (often out of your awareness) which impact how you move through the world. Increasing awareness of these patterns allows you to alter thoughts, feelings and behaviours to fundamentally change your relationship with yourself and others, and experience life differently. Regardless of what we discuss, how we meet, and for how long, I will hold your story with the greatest care, providing a confidential, private, and boundaried space, in which I hope you are able to feel safe. I find consistency supports change, so I generally work weekly with clients on an open-ended basis.

My Qualifications and Memberships:

  •  I hold a Postgraduate Diploma with Distinction in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from the University of Brighton
  •  I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their ethical framework
  •  I am fully insured
  •  I have regular supervision with an experienced colleague to ensure my client work is robust and safe
  • I undertake regular Continuing Professional Development to deepen and update my knowledge and skills.

If you feel I might be a good fit for you, or you’d like to know more about how I can help you, please contact the clinic at info@oneallapark.co.uk to book an initial session.
