Dr Eleanor Oswald
Update August 2026: Dr Eleanor is currently at full capacity.
About: Dr Eleanor Oswald is a Clinical Psychologist who has been working with individuals and families with mental health difficulties and additional support needs over the last 15 years. Eleanor uses a person-centred and trauma-informed approach in order to help clients to reach their goals. She is trained in a range of therapies including Eye Movement Dessensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
Whilst it can be hard starting therapy, I seek to provide a compassionate, understanding and safe space to talk. Whatever you may be dealing with, It can be helpful to find ways to cope based on evidence based practice, and understanding of yourself. A first therapy session aims to share understanding, and from there we can discuss treatment goals and what might work best for you. I take a holistic approach to therapy to help to improve well-being, and will always try to tailor sessions in collaboration with clients. I work primarily with adults currently.
I have particular experience in working with the following:
- Life transitions
- Trauma and PTSD
- Anxiety
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Phobias
- Depression and low mood
- Relational issues
- Low self-esteem
- Grief and loss
- Neurodivergence
- Burnout
- Parenting
- Stress and anger management
