Margherita Sacca-Briody. Counsellor and Young Persons’ Counsellor

Accredited in Italy as a Psychologist, I moved to Scotland in 2007. I have experience in counselling/talking therapy and have worked with clients coming to me for different reasons: in some cases feeling a bit lost in life and wanting to understand themselves or explore what they want; in some cases for low mood, depression or anxiety; in other cases for past trauma, eating disorders, self-harm, or family problems.

I have experience in delivering workshops on resilience, procrastination, wellbeing, and career vocation, and individual sessions on the same themes. As well as working with clients, I have undertaken academic teaching and research in Psychology both in Scotland and in Italy; in Social Psychology, Work Psychology, Neuropsychology and Psycholinguistics. Currently I work in my private practice with adults, young people, and families; with the University of Stirling as Student Counsellor and Mental Health Mentor and in the Psychology Department; with a charity –Wellbeing Scotland – with GP surgeries, and in a Wellbeing Project with High Schools and Primary Schools; and with the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the UK, delivering Career Vocation Workshops.
